It's been a crazy couple of weeks. I ended up getting strep throat and bronchitis last week and was in bed for three days. Needless to say I did very little but sleep and didn't mind one bit. I think the only time Mom's get any rest is when there sick.
John and I both received new callings in our church. John is the Executive Secretary, which means he gets to be the Bishops right hand man. I don't think the Bishop has been happier. When John asked him exactly what he wanted, the Bishop replied "I want it to be done John Freer style" so he's doing it "Freer Style." I get to be a Cub Master, I really don't understand why Women are Boy Scout Leaders, but I guess it just shows that men can't run anything without women. I'm working with some amazing and fun people so I'm really excited and can't wait to see what it all entails.
On top of getting new callings we both had to speak in church last Sunday. We found out the Wed. before and had only a few days to prepare. Since I was sick John did most of the research for both talks and I wrote mine Friday night, tried to get through it twice to time it and didn't give it much thought after that. I think it helped being to sick to care about it (or the cough syrup) and I didn't freak out like normal. I talked on Faith and despite the frogginess of the voice managed to get through it. John spoke on Charity and did an amazing job. I forget how well he speaks, I guess he was paying more attention in our Public Speaking 101 class then I was.
Brax and Leks are doing great. Leks can't wait until Halloween and try's her costume on every other day. She has her Primary Program tomorrow and has been practicing the songs and her part like crazy. Luckily she has her Dad's nerves when it comes to speaking and doesn't seem to mind. She is excited for it and has invited everyone to come.
