Easter

We had a great time dying easter eggs. We had Elaine, Natalie, and her boys over for some easter egg fun. We got some great eggs and a little mess-what could be better.
Mom and Brax dying his egg. He really liked the blue and painting it.
He wasn't to impressed with the orange color. Aleksia loved helping her brother and made sure he was always involved Even Dad got in on the action. He took his time and did an amazing job, untill he handed it to Elaine to hold. Lets just say she was helping all the kids(fingers in multi colored dye).
Kyler had fun for the first five minutes and then decided throwing them was a lot funner.
Natalie loved it and Kal just liked being around everyone.

Elaine got stuck helping all of the kids with their eggs at some point or was the camera lady. Thanks Elaine for all of your help.

These are the eggs that Aleksia did. Grandma, the top one is your special one. These are Brax's eggs. He did the chicks at school and the plainn ones at home. These are the family eggs. Aleksia added the bubbles during the picture for a little dramatic flair. We had a great time and I think the eggs are pretty amazing.

Martin Luther King 3 Day weekend

We had a great three day weekend, starting with John and I heading up to the mtn. on
Thursday. We had an amazing time and did great getting in 11runs for the day. We would have done more but on run #10 my binding broke while I was headed down the mtn. causing me to crash big time. Then on the last run, after fixing my binding, I was so sketched out that I face planted big time. It's been awhile since I had wrecked like that and I've started having 2nd thoughts on Snowboarding.
John and Aleksia went back up Friday after school and had a great time. They made it back just in time for Aleksia's to see Mary and Helen, her cousins from Phx. The twins were here all weekend and they all played in the snow every chance they got. They were over here Friday night, all day Saturday and Sunday night, sledding and building an Igloo hotel. They stayed out until they had to come in. Saturday night Grammy and Paps took them to the movie Mall Cop, it must of been good because all I heard on Sunday were comments or quotes from the movie causing bouts of laughter.
On Monday, John took them up snowboarding for the whole day. He ended up putting them all in a Snowboarding School, Aleksia scored and got private lessons for group lesson price. She was the only one in the advanced class and got to hang out with her instructor Brad all day. He said she did awesome and finally got her toe side down and even going down the last two runs edge-to-edge. For those of you who don't know, that is when you head pretty much straight down the mtn. getting down the fastest (and crash the hardest when your binding breaks). He said that we should really put her on the Snowboarding team, hum following them around to different ski resorts and lots of vacations, sounds good to me.
The twins did great to. Helen was able to beat Mary down the mtn. and was really feeling it Today. Mary started to catch up at the end, and they both made some great improvements. They weren't to happy on the last run though when John and Leks took them up to the top. They took quite awhile getting down and made it to the rental shop right as they were locking the door. They did make it down but I'm not sure how soon will get them to go back to the top though.
On Saturday, John and I got up on the roof and shoveled the snow. We were getting Ice Dams and had to get the snow off before we got leaking problems. We ended up getting all of the snow off but couldn't make a dent in the ice. We both only slipped a couple of times but luckily had no falls. John was really thinking about Snowboarding off the roof until the girls convinced him otherwise.
All-in-all it was an amazing weekend spent with great company. I hope everyone else had a great weekend.

Christmas

Well Santa has come and gone and it's almost time to start a new year. We had an amazing Christmas with everyone getting what they wanted. Finally after 11yrs. I got scriptures that say Freer instead of Oberg on them and a coat rack that my Dad made(I'll past a picture when I get one). Lek's said over and over that this was the best year of all and she got everything she wanted and more. Of course she is always my Dad's shadow when she is up there so she did everything (except plow and shovel snow) with him. Brax got a lot of really cool toys that easily make noise and pretty much slept most of the day away.
While we were in Utah we hit the slopes a few times with Justin and Brianne and made it back with no injuries. For Christmas John got along with his towel warmer, a video recorder for his helmet. Were still learning how to use it and hopefully we will be able to post some videos.

We had to cut our trip short to come home and shovel Sizzler's roof. There was so much snow that three businesses had their roofs collapse and the fire dept. told everyone that they needed to shovel or possibly be closed. We had over 4ft of snow over a one week period. So we came home to mounds of snow and freezing temps. Needless to say that when the opportunity to head over to San Diego came up we took it. So now were in 70degree weather and LOVING IT. (We just couldn't take any more snow and all the people that were in town to enjoy it.)
We hope you all have a wonderful New Year.
Love,
Amie

Thanksgiving Recap

Check Spelling

Hope everyone had a wonderful Thanksgiving. We had a lot of fun over in Newport, Ca. with John's family. We hit Disneyland, the beach and a lot of other places, but the kids liked the pool the best. Thanksgiving Day we ran the Turkey Trot at Dana Point. John and Aleksia ran the 5k, Grammy pushed Brax in the 5k and I ran the 10k with Mike and Sheri against my Dr's and P.T.'s advice.
The 10k started at 6:30 in the morning so Mike, Sheri and I were up at 5:30 to get ready for the race. We were fortunate to race in a down pour and I mean down pour. By the time the race started we were pretty wet and didn't even bother dodging the puddles. It rained the whole time and at the end we looked like we had just stepped out of the shower. We even considered calling everyone and telling them not to come, but by the time their race started it was sunny and beautiful. We all did great and had a lot of fun doing something active on Thanksgiving. We got home Sunday night to our house all decorated and ready for Christmas (I put it up the day after Halloween) so were ready for the next big day.

Trunk-or-Treat

We had an amazing time at our wards Trunk-or-Treat. Our friends Won and Natalie came with their baby Kyler, Aleksia's friend Morgan came and so did Elaine. It was pretty crazy but I think all of the kids looked really cute, they all got alot of candy and they all went to bed as soon as we got home.
